At left is Gillian Rice with her son Lowell Rice, teaching a Music Discovery class at the Family Resource Centre for children from newborn to 18 months of age. Rice is the owner of Eighty Eight Keys Music Studio. At the Family Resource Centre shaking noise makers to music sung by all the mothers were: (at back) Lauren Mentanko with daughters Rachael and Emily Mentanko; (at right) Aimee Collins and her son Andrew Machacek, and (at right front) Masako Knight and her daughters Emma and Maya Knight.

Mothers were singing to their children one by one with Gillian Rice teaching the songs at a recent session at the Canora Family Resource Centre. Maya Knight was helping rock the hammock with her sister Emma in the background, while Lowell Rice relaxed with all the soothing sounds while being rocked back and forth.

Claudette Hanson is a grandmother who attends the Family Resource Centre to read to the children every Monday morning and last week she brought a book with her called A Book with No Pictures. It had the children laughing the entire story as Hanson, while reading the book with funny-sounding words, became the visual picture.
