Dean Wilgosh, president of the Canora Agricultural Society, made a contribution of $2,500 to STARS (Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society) on February 4.

Wilgosh said the Ag Society felt it was important to support a service that is so essential to Canora and the surrounding region.

“STARS provides a valuable service to our community, and all members of the community benefit from it,” said Wilgosh. “We have seen the its value repeatedly when there are emergencies in the Canora area.”

Wilgosh said the two Saskatchewan bases in Regina and Saskatoon have a total annual budget of $21 million. Only half of that need is provided by the government, which highlights the importance of support from communities such as Canora.
