Canora and area enthusiasts excel at Ag Days Car Show

The Cruisers Car Club Show and Shine on August 19 welcomed a total of 39 vehicles and motorcycles. Eugene Keyowski of Canora once again created the one-of-a-kind, hand-made trophies out of salvaged car parts for the winners.

Eugene Keyowski of Canora once again created the one-of-a-kind, hand-made trophies out of salvaged car parts for the winners. The winners for the various categories were decided by the votes of those attending the show.

Keyowski said he was impressed by the variety of vehicles entered in the show, ranging from 1937 to 2006 models.

It turned out to be a good day for Plymouth, Ford, and entrants from the Canora region and Swan River, Man.

Ward Manahan of Canora won the award for best motorcycle with his 1986 Harley Davidson Softail Custom.

The award for the best pre-1940 vehicle was captured by Wendy Shabatura of Otthon with her 1937 Plymouth Coupe.

Bob Bartch of Sturgis won the award for the best 1940 to 1949 vehicle for his ’49 Rover.

John Dvorak of Swan River, Man. was the winner of the best 1950 to 1959 vehicle for his ‘50 Ford Coupe.

The award for the best 1960s vehicle was taken by Earl Goretzky of Canora with his 1969 Plymouth Road Runner.

Dwayne Stankewich of Swan River and his 1974 Plymouth Barracuda captured the award for the best 1970s vehicle.

With his 2006 Ford Mustang GT, Nick Sasyniuk of Swan River won the award for the best vehicle in the 1980 and newer category.

Bob Knutson of Sturgis took home the award for the best truck with his 1953 Ford F100.

The winner in the popular burnout competition was Eric Kushneruk of Buchanan in his 1968 Dodge Coronet R/T 440.
