Bill Wenarchuk had some exciting news to share with his wife, Linda, after checking their January 19 LOTTO MAX ticket, but she never would have known it by the look on his face. The Wenarchuks’ ticket won $100,000 on the EXTRA draw, according to a release.

“He came out of the store with this weird look on his face,” said Linda. “He sat down and whispered, ‘I think we just won $100,000.’”

“We were both pretty shocked,” she added.

The couple plan to bank their windfall for now, but they hope to travel when it’s safe to do so.

“We know we can’t go anywhere today,” said Bill. “But when we can, we will!”

The Wenarchuks purchased their winning LOTTO MAX and EXTRA ticket at Gateway Co-op Gas Bar, located at 721 Norway Road South in Canora. Their winning selection matched the last six digits of the EXTRA number – 4629564.
