The registration on Friday night included pizza and plenty of reminiscing, said Keyowski, adding he was pleased to see that the majority of the spouses of the graduates “fit right in” and quickly became comfortable visiting with the group.

Saturday including a catered supper and much more visiting and telling stories.

On Sunday the group got together for breakfast before going their separate ways. It was an extremely enjoyable weekend, said Keyowski.

He said in 1971 the class included 65 graduates. Since then, 13 have passed on.

The organizing committee members were: Ed and Deb Keyowski, Dan Danchilla and Val Wyonzek.

The proceeds from the weekend were split between the 2019 Pensioners Prom and the Canora branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. The class wanted to support the Legion in all it stands for, including helping war veterans, said Keyowski.

At the end of the weekend, the committee passed on the lamp to the 1972 graduates, represented by Linda (Matechuk) McInnes, in preparation for the 2019 Pensioners Prom.
