Canora RCMP Traffic Enforcement Initiative

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP has organized a Traffic Enforcement Initiative on March 26 for the towns of Canora, Sturgis and Preeceville.

The Canora/Sturgis RCMP has organized a Traffic Enforcement Initiative on March 26 for the towns of Canora, Sturgis and Preeceville.

Our office will be partnering up with RCMP Traffic Services, SERM (Saskatchewan Environment and Resource Management) and CN Police to set up various check stops in these communities. The stops are planned for high traffic routes and smaller less travelled roads around the communities and will occur any time, day or night. During this initiative, officers will be speaking to motorists and performing general safety checks, ensuring driver sobriety and that vehicle standards are being met. They will also be checking that each driver has up to date license and registration.

The RCMP would like to remind motorists to slow to 60 km/h when passing emergency vehicles.

This enforcement effort will focus towards Impaired Driving, however we will be enforcing Provincial Statues such as The Traffic Safety Act and The Alcohol and Gaming Regulations Act. This initiative is part of our mission to contribute towards safer roads in Saskatchewan.
