The Canora swimming pool hosted a number of fun events during Canora in Bloom, said Mina Mykytyshyn, manager.
As the sun set on July 8, Family Outdoor Movie Night was the kick-off event for Canora in Bloom. The movie Jumanji played on a 17-foot screen set up near the pool. Those in attendance had the option of watching the movie on the grass, or as they were swimming in the pool.
On July 9 the pool hosted a Slip ‘n’ Slide, with approximately 70 youngsters taking part.
An 18-foot high waterslide was set up just outside the pool on July 10 as part of the pool party and barbecue. Mykytyshyn said about 100 people were brave enough to take a trip down the slide. As many as 81 swimmers were in the pool at the same time during the pool party, the busiest day of the year so far, she said. Approximately 200 hot dogs were given out during the barbecue.
Aquafit classes and free open swims were held throughout the week.
Mykytyshyn said the various pool events and activities during the week ran smoothly and successfully engaged children of various ages in a wide range of physical activities.
