Keen Age Centre holds annual Christmas supper

The Christmas spirit was shared by all who attended the Keen Age Centre’s annual holiday supper.

The Christmas spirit was shared by all who attended the Keen Age Centre’s annual holiday supper.

The annual Christmas supper was held on December 10 at the Centre, where a catered supper was enjoyed by the approximately 70 people attending, said Edith Kotzer, president of the Keen Age Society.

Carols were sung after supper with music accompaniment by John Dergousoff on accordion, Ron Hoehn and Dwight Macdonald on guitars, and Iris Bodnarchuk on mandolin.

After the carols, attendants received a pleasant surprise when Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus arrived to greet people and hand out oranges.

Winners of the door prizes and the items they received were: Marie Waselyshen, Wongs’ gift certificates; Irene Homeniuk, Christmas ornament; Gary Nehaj, Swiss army knife; Phyllis Derkatch, first aid kid; Mellvina Dergousoff, poinsettia; Bernice Rakochy, smoke detector; Phyllis Pieper, pocket flashlight; Michael Woloschuk, carbon monoxide detector, and Jean Zarazun, Canora Pharmacy gift basket.

Kotzer said she wished to acknowledge those who donated door prizes, as well as the Keen Age Society members who helped prepare and clean up after the meal.
