Late night fire destroys Canora house

On June 23 at 11:16 p.m. the Canora and District Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 100 block of Evelee Avenue in Canora, said Mike Doogan, fire chief.

On June 23 at 11:16 p.m. the Canora and District Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 100 block of Evelee Avenue in Canora, said Mike Doogan, fire chief.

A residential home was fully engulfed in the blaze, with fire having burned through the roof and coming out the windows when fire crews arrived, said Doogan.

The fire was extinguished with no injuries reported. The building does not appear to be salvageable, he said. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
