Truck and bicycle thefts in Canora On July 7 at around 4 a.m. a 1999 Ford Ranger truck was stolen from a residence in Canora. The keys had been left inside and the driver’s door was left unlocked.

Truck and bicycle thefts in Canora

On July 7 at around 4 a.m. a 1999 Ford Ranger truck was stolen from a residence in Canora. The keys had been left inside and the driver’s door was left unlocked. The unknown subjects were seen by a neighbour driving away and a hat was left behind. Yorkton Forensic Identification Section attended to process the scene and collect evidence. The truck was later located that day at the Rhein turn off from Hwy No. 9 with significant damage. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to please contact the Canora RCMP. 

On July 7 a bicycle was reported stolen a block away from where the Ford Ranger was stolen the same morning. The owner had video cameras and captured video of the suspect stealing the bicycle from the yard. The theft also occurred at around 4 a.m. and the two thefts are believed to be related. The bicycle description is a mostly white CCM model with a blue stripe. The suspect is described as a thin male with dark hair, wearing a ball cap, Crooks and Castles sweater, and patterned pants. Canora car theft

At around 7 a.m. on July 8 a 2015 Chevrolet Sonic was stolen from a residence in Canora. The keys had been left inside and the doors were unlocked. Kamsack and Yorkton RCMP were notified. The vehicle was found later that day on Cote First Nation in Badgerville. The vehicle was processed by the Yorkton Forensic Identification Section. The suspect is described as a larger female wearing a pink shirt. This crime is still under investigation. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to please contact the Canora RCMP.

Fight in Preeceville RM

On July 14 two individuals were involved in a fight at a property located in the RM of Preeceville. The altercation took place over a property ownership dispute. Both individuals have been criminally charged accordingly.

Dirt bike stolen from Canora Campground

On July 19 at around 4 a.m. a Kawasaki 450 dirt bike was stolen from the Canora Campground. Suspects fled in a dark coloured minivan and headed north on Hwy No. 9. The dirt bike was recovered later that day on a farm in the RM of Buchanan. After an investigation a male suspect was charged for possession of the stolen dirt bike, however other suspects may still be at large.

Tools stolen from tool trailer in Canora

In the early morning of July 21 a tool trailer was broken into on 4th Avenue East in Canora.  Serval tools were stolen from inside the trailer including a Milwaukee grinder, a Milwaukee drill and a hammer. The lock was broken off the trailer in order to gain entry. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to please contact the Canora RCMP.

Large fight at Stenen business

On July 21 in the early morning hours, a large fight involving nearly a dozen people took place at a business located in Stenen. All parties involved in the altercation dispersed from the location and no further incidents took place.

Break and enter, theft and assault in Canora

On the afternoon of July 21 an address in Canora was broken into and had several items inside the residence damaged. A white Honda quad was stolen from outside the residence.  A male suspect has been charged for the break and enter into the residence as well as theft and possession of stolen property. The Honda quad was located with the male suspect and returned to its owner.

In the early morning of July 22 the same male suspect involved in the Honda quad theft assaulted an adult male with a sword while he was sleeping in his residence. The adult male victim suffered serious lacerations to his face, body and hands. He had several fingers amputated during the attack. It is believed that the male suspect was under influence of drugs during the incident. In the afternoon of July 22 the same male suspect broke into one of the Canora Archery Club’s cabins and was located by police sleeping in the cabin with a 12-gauge shotgun. He has been arrested and remains in custody. 

Vehicle break-in attempted in Canora

On July 25 in the early morning hours a young First Nations male in his early 20s with black hair, short facial hair, a jean jacket and a dark hat with a white adjustable strap on it attempted to break into a vehicle parked in a carport on Main Street in Canora. The Suspect was tackled by a close neighbour but managed to get away. When the suspect ran away he left behind both a beer can as well as his bike (pictured.)  Anyone with information about this bicycle or anything else about this crime is asked to please contact the Canora RCMP.
