River Ridge Fish and Game antler measuring includes significant junior presence

On December 7, the River Ridge Fish and Game League held its annual antler measuring at the Canora Activity Centre. There were a total of 19 sets of antlers brought in and seven of them were juniors, said Kathy Thomas, president of River Ridge.

The antlers measured included one moose, one elk, six mule deer and 11 white-tailed deer. One of the mule deer met the requirements to qualify for the Pope and Young record book for exceptional achievements in archery.

Measuring the antlers were: Floyd and Dianne Hendrickson, Kate Lockert and Damon Paley.

The winners in the antler measuring are scheduled to be announced on March 2 at the annual River Ridge Fish and Game banquet, said Thomas.
