RM election results announced

Election results have been announced for RM polls held across Saskatchewan on October 24, including those in the Canora region. Only one poll was required for the RM of Buchanan, which was in Division 4.

Only one poll was required for the RM of Buchanan, which was in Division 4. Incumbent Justin DeVries was re-elected with 50 votes over Donald Hrywkiw, who received 25 votes.

The RM of Good Lake held one poll, a byelection for Division 1, where Theodore Trotz was the winner with 47 votes over Richard Stefanyshyn, with 30 votes.

The RM of Invermay held polls for two divisions. Incumbent William Jack was re-elected in Division 2 with 22 votes, while runner-up Ashley Bosovich had 9 votes. In Division 6, Darroll Wallin was re-elected with 32 votes and Kevin Dodd was the runner-up with 28 votes.

In the RM of Keys, polls were required for two divisions. In Division 2, newcomer Clinton Kraynick received 17 votes, and barely edged out incumbent Tammy Bobyk-Jacquemart with 16 votes. In Division 6, newcomer Vivian Morgan had 165 votes, to defeat incumbent Clarissa Mydonick with 18 votes.

The RM of Sliding Hills required polls in all three even-numbered divisions. In Division 2, the open councillor position was won by Tyson Beyko with 16 votes over Richard Solonenko, who had 11 votes. In Division 4 new comer Tim Verigin defeated incumbent Rick Choptuik by 44 votes to 34.  In Division 6 incumbent LeeAnn Weinbender received 52 votes to defeat challenger Karen Parker, who had 4 votes.
