Town Council applies for water treatment plant upgrade funding

Applying for funding for the water treatment plant upgrade project and the hiring of a new Town of Canora employee were among the items of concern to town council at its regular meeting on May 21. 

Council agreed to apply for New Deal funding for a portion of the water treatment plant process waste upgrade project and agreed with the terms and conditions of this program, to manage the completion of the project and fund the municipal share of the costs.

Council hired Kristopher Currie as permanent leisure services labourer I, effective June 1.

Council authorized two members of the Canora Tourism Committee to attend the Saskatchewan History and Folklore Society annual general meeting to be held June 15 in Regina.
