Council approved the December 19, 2019 Solid Waste Management Feasibility Study as prepared by Tetra Tech Canada.

Council hired Roger Sabiston as a labourer, effective February 1.

Council transferred $18,400 to the facilities reserve for 2019.

Council adopted the Asset Management Plan for sanitary sewer.

Council approved a municipal tax concession to David Collingridge for the property located at 201 Main Street (Pt. 1, Block 3, Plan 2107):

Purchase a commercial or industrial building or structure, vacant for more than one year, and operate a business there from provided it is an arms-length transaction:

  • 2020    50 per cent
  • 2021    50 per cent
  • 2022    25 per cent

Council approved a municipal tax concession to 6742298 Manitoba Ltd. (Lewis Cattle Oiler Co.) for the property located at 740 Norway Road (Lot 5, Block 67, Plan 62Y06331):

Council cancelled the following 2019 taxes for a vacant lot at 222 Fourth Avenue West:

$1,010 for Municipal and $12.65 for  School. The Town accepted a voluntary transfer of that property in 2019. In between council’s acceptance of the offer and the legal transfer of the property, the municipal software automatically applied the tax levy applied to the account. The abatement resolution was to simply cancel the taxes because the property belongs to the town and is not taxable.
