Town Council discusses next step in condominium development project

Council agreed to provide Lots 5,6 and 7 on Billy Cove to Michelle Bailey’s condominium development project at no cost and waive the water and sewer connection and installation fees to the building.

Council award the Civic Centre ice maintenance and janitorial contract to Graham Lamb for $46,000 per season in 2019-2020 and 2020-2021.

Janusz Superata met with council to discuss his appeal of the order to remedy he received for 231 Fourth Avenue West. Council extended the deadline of the order to remedy to October 20.

Council went in camera to discuss matters under the council code of ethics.

Council authorized Brandi Zavislak, community development officer, to attend the Government of Saskatchewan Heritage and Design Workshop to be held September 24 to 26 in Moose Jaw.

Council approved the construction of a pergola and clock arch at the CN Station House Museum at an estimated cost of $9,700 to be funded from the proceeds of the Canora Economic Development Cooperatives loan programs.

Council amended the signing authority at Crossroads Credit Union to remove Mayor Gina Rakochy and add Mayor Jim Vewchar.

Council authorized Michael Mykytyshyn, chief administrative officer, to attend the Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association (SUMA) Ethics and Conflict of Interest webinar held September 11.

Council authorized Courtney Bourassa, administrative assistant, to attend the WorkSafe Regional Workshop to be held October 29 in Yorkton.

Council authorized Sheldon Danyluk, senior public works operator, to attend Modules 1 to 4 of the Leadership Skills for Front Line Managers program at Parkland College in Yorkton.

Council approved payment of a list of tax overpayment refunds.
