Town Council receives resignation of Mayor Rakochy

Council acknowledged the resignation of Gina Rakochy as mayor, effective June 30.

Council accepted, with regret, the resignation and retirement notice of David Wasyliw, senior public works operator, effective July 31.

Cpl. Dallyn Holmstrom of Canora RCMP met with council to discuss policing in the community.

Kailey Sleeva, Ethan Heshka, Logan Lewchuk and Latifah Severight of the Canora Composite School Grade 8 class met with council to ask questions about municipal government and discuss how to make requests or suggestions to town council.

Council added to the Canora swimming pool staff for 2019 with the hiring of Carson Pinno in a casual position.

A bylaw to amend the traffic bylaw was introduced, read three times and adopted.

A bylaw to enter into a lagoon dredging contract was introduced, read three times and adopted.
