The Buchanan Open/Darrell Teslia Memorial Bonspiel was held Feb 13 to 17, with 14 teams participating.
Curlers reported that the kitchen was busy with rink burgers and perogies and borscht sales.
The first event winner was the Bob Kolodziejski team of Canora with team members John Zbitniff, Terry Wilson, Robin Ludba and Jordon Zbitniff, coach. The Kent Zuravloff rink of Buchanan finished second, Rob Zuravloff of Canora third and Eugene Prychak of Buchanan fourth.
The Jacob Teslia rink of Buchanan took top spot in the second event. Other members of the team were: John Teslia, Shaelynn Bazarski and Glen Teslia. The Lenard Bazarski foursome of Canora placed second, Bev Teslia of Buchanan third and Don Probe of Canora fourth.
Zenovie Gulka and his Canora rink finished first in the third event. Other team members were: Dale Lozinski, Mel McCormick and Roman Gulka. Second place went to the Brian Statchuk rink of Buchanan, Charlene Johnson of Yorkton third and Vern Schick of Canora fourth.
Patty Shermet of Buchanan and Jonathon Strykowski of Preeceville were the other participating teams.
