The Canora Supers stayed unbeaten at home this season with a victory over the visiting Yorkton 18U Cardinals at Al Sapieha Field in Southeast Senior Baseball League action on June 30.

It was a bit of a sloppy game as both teams booted the ball around a little, according to player/coach Greg Andreychuk, but in the end the Supers came out with a 13-5 victory.

The pitching was in fine form, as Darcy Blommaert started.

“He went four innings, allowing two unearned runs on just four hits with four strikeouts. He also picked off two Cardinals baserunners and was credited with the win,” said Andreychuk. “Greg Pelechaty came on in relief and allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits to pick up the save.”

Five Supers recorded multi-hit games in a diversified offensive attack. Evan Rostotski had three, while Pelechaty, Carson Dennis, Kholton Shewchuk and Zach Rakochy each had two. Andreychuk, Jayden Heskin, and Taber Ebert each had one hit. Ebert's single was his first hit as a Super.

With the win the Supers record improves to four wins and only one loss.
